Universities in Iceland

Public Universities (Free)
Iceland's public universities charge no tuition: University of Iceland (www.hi.is, Reykjavík), University of Akureyri (www.unak.is), Hólar University College, and Agricultural University of Iceland. All charge registration fees. A minimum grade of 5 is required to continue studies.
Private Universities
Private universities charge tuition: Reykjavík University (www.ru.is), Bifröst University, and Iceland University of the Arts. They offer strong programs in business, law, engineering, and creative arts. Both public and private students are eligible for Iceland Student Loan Fund loans: www.lin.is.
Applying and Financing
Applications are submitted online through university websites. Foreign credentials must be assessed through ENIC/NARIC (www.enicnaric.is). The Student Loan Fund (www.lin.is) offers loans based on academic progress. Student housing waitlists: www.studentagardar.is.
