University Study
The University of Iceland (www.hi.is) offers a Diploma in Icelandic as a Second Language and a BA program for foreign students. Foreign academic credentials are evaluated through ENIC/NARIC (www.enicnaric.is). Vocational training is assessed at IÐAN (www.idan.is). Professional licences require ministry authorization.
Adult and Continuous Education
Lifelong learning centers (símenntunarmiðstöðvar) across Iceland offer Icelandic courses, language programs, and career education. ETSC programs tailored for non-native speakers include 'Reading and Writing in Icelandic' and 'Icelandic Culture and Society.' Skills validation is available for people aged 23+ with 3+ years of work experience: www.frae.is.
Financial Support
Iceland Student Loan Fund (www.lin.is) provides loans based on academic progress, available to all regardless of financial history. Many students work part-time to supplement income.
