First Week Checklist

Day 1–2: Settle In
Unpack, explore your neighborhood, locate the nearest grocery store (Bónus, Krónan, or Hagkaup), and get a local SIM card (Síminn or Nova).
Day 3–4: Register and Bank
Visit Registers Iceland (Þjóðskrá) to register your address and get your kennitala. Then open a bank account at Landsbankinn, Íslandsbanki, or Arion Bank with your passport and kennitala.
Day 5–7: Healthcare and Community
Register with a health center (heilsugæslustöð) in your area — Iceland has universal healthcare for registered residents. Join our community events and start connecting with fellow members.
