Official bylaws of the Iranian Community in Iceland

Article 1: Name
The association is named: Iranian Community in Iceland (Félag Írana á Íslandi).
Article 2: Legal Domicile
The legal domicile of the association is in Reykjavik.
Article 3: Purpose
The association is an independent, non-affiliated organization operating on the basis of its members' outlook on life. The association has no commercial activity. The goal is to support the civil, cultural, and social rights of Iranians in Iceland, working in an organized manner and to the best of its ability.
Article 4: Methods
1. Language assistance: Working towards recognition of Persian in public services
2. Labor rights and taxation: Providing guidance on the Icelandic labor market
3. Residence permits and humanitarian affairs: Following up on residence permit cases
4. Family welfare: Supporting social health and social integration
5. Gender equality: Empowering Iranian women in Iceland
6. Culture and national festivals: Holding national and cultural celebrations
7. Civic participation: Creating a platform for civic and political participation
8. Legal assistance: Cooperating with lawyers for legal consultation
9. Transparency: Transparency in activities and expenses
Article 5: Membership
Membership is open to all Iranians who hold a residence permit or Icelandic citizenship, as well as Iranians who have applied for international protection in Iceland and accept the association's goals. The board confirms membership applications.
Article 6: Operating Period
The operating period follows the calendar year. At the general meeting, the board reports on the results of the past year. Only members may participate in the general meeting.
Article 7: General Meeting
The general meeting is the highest decision-making authority. It must be held by August 1st each year, with at least two weeks' notice. The meeting is legal if properly convened and a majority of members (50%+1) attend.
Article 8: Board
The board consists of 3-5 members: a chairperson, a secretary, and a treasurer, elected at the general meeting for one year. Up to 8 alternates may also be elected.
Article 9: Membership Fee
The membership fee is decided at the general meeting. Fees are collected monthly.
Article 10: Dissolution
The decision to dissolve the association requires 2/3 approval at a general meeting. Upon dissolution, assets are transferred to charitable organizations.
